From the Series Stardust (De la Serie Polvo de Estrellas)
This is part of the last series in which I am working that is called “star dust”. It is inspired by the famous phrase of Carl Sagan "we are star stuff" because in it I attempt to speak of the relationship between high technology and science on the one hand and deep cultural roots and religion on the other. It is my personal experience too, because when I was a child in Cuba at the age of 4, my country had its first and only astronaut. All the children of my generation believed that we would have such a future with astronauts and rockets, but you know that the future, that which is present today, is very different, we still use horse-drawn vehicles to transport us. In addition, the Soviets had said they were only one step away from reaching a communist society, as they had already progressed past socialism. Then, in 10 years, the system collapsed. Finally, these works make reference to a subject that I use a lot in my work - broken dreams. That's why the cosmonaut is very small (reality) and the wings are huge (dreams).
